Food Travels: Avengers Campus

We are big fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in our house. We are always watching through the MCU. Suffice it to say, we were excited to visit Avengers Campus, which just opened at Disneyland Resort.

Calculated Breakfast = E x 2 + (B+P)/T

  • What is it?: Eggs Two Ways with Smoked Bacon, crispy Potato Bites and Focaccia Toast
  • Where to get it: Pym’s Test Kitchen
  • Price: $10.99
  • Thoughts: There aren’t a lot of great breakfast options in California Adventure, but this is absolutely one of them. The potatoes were crispy, the perfect compliment to the runny yolk in the egg white. The foccacia was warm, doughy, and delicious. The one thing I will say is that it was a lot of food, and I couldn’t eat it all. I loved the touch of the note from Scott Lang aka Ant Man on the food.
  • Would I get it again?: Yes, absolutely.

Pym-ini Sandwich

  • What is it?: Salami, Rosemary Ham, Provolone and Sun-dried Tomato Spread on Toasted Focaccia, served with Marinara Dipping Sauce and Arugula Salad
  • Where to get it: Pym’s Test Kitchen
  • Price: $14.49 (but there also is a $99.99 version that serves 6-8)
  • Thoughts: There’s been a lot of buzz about this one because of the one hundred dollar version, and that buzz is worth it. This sandwich is so full of flavor and a little gooey (just like any good panini). The arugula had the perfect light dressing. In fact, I ate the salad so fast that I didn’t even get a picture of it.
  • Would I get it again?: 100% yes

Quantam Pretzel

  • What is it?: 453.8 grams, Bavarian-style, with Sharp Cheddar Cheese-Beer Sauce
  • Where to get it: Pym’s Test Kitchen
  • Price: $12.99
  • Thoughts: Soft pretzels are an institution at Disneyland, and I just had to try this new one. It is perfect. The pretzel was warm, salty, soft, and doughy, and I didn’t want to stop eating it. The cheese sauce was a little watery, but still delicious. It certainly tasted more like cheese than the sauce that comes on the side of Mickey Pretzels.
  • Would I get it again?: Yes, my mouth is watering just looking at this picture.

New York’s Tastiest

  • What is it?: Chicken Shawarma Wrap, Garlic Spread and Coconut Yogurt-Tahini Sauce with Pickled Vegetables
  • Where to get it: Shawarma Palace
  • Price: $12.99
  • Thoughts: Shawarma, of course, is a joke at the end of The Avengers, so it is perfect that there is a shawarma stand in Avengers Campus. The chicken sha warma is so good. The meat is perfectly seasoned and spicy, and the wrap is soft, but it holds together well. The yogurt sauce is tangy and the perfect antidote to the spiciness of the meat.
  • Would I get it again?: Yes, can I have another one now? “You ever try shawarma? There’s a shawarma joint about two blocks from here. I don’t know what it is but I wanna try it”

Sweet Spiral Ration

  • What is it?: Like a Terran Pineapple Churro
  • Where to get it: Terran Treats
  • Price: $5.75
  • Thoughts: Churros are another institution at Disneyland, so I was so excited to try this one. Pineapple is one of my favorite summer flavors, and it certainly comees through in this dish. The churro was warm and soft inside and had a crispy outside. It was perfect. The green color and spiral make it look pretty great too.
  • Would I get it again?: Of course.

What would you want to try first? Or if you’ve been to Avenger’s Campus, what did you think? Did I miss anything?
